Kennedy Girls Traveling Basketball Association is a 501(c)3 non profit association (EIN 41-1672171) serving 3rd-8th grade traveling girls in the Bloomington Kennedy district. Through our Little Eagles program, headed up by Jamie Miller, we also work on basic skills with K-4th grade girls.
Kennedy Girls Traveling Basketball Association is a member of Trusted Coaches which is an online youth coach’s training/educational program. Coaches will receive first-aid training, concussion instruction, a nationwide criminal background check and be certified in the Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Goal Coach® character education course. Upon completion, coaches are issued a Trusted Coach Membership Card and placed on the Trusted Coaches National Registry
Our typical season begins with evaluations in mid-September. Practices will begin the week after MEA (mid-October) with tournament play starting in November. All teams will practice two nights per week with some coaches opting for three nights. There are no games during the week. Teams will play a minimum of five tournaments per season. The season will round out with the MYAS Grade State tournament the first weekend in March.
Player fees per season ranges from $225-$350 depending on the age of the player. Fees cover practice gym time, uniforms (rental deposit required), tournament entry fees. There may be an additional coaches fees if a parent volunteer coach is not provided. We strive to work with families to make KGTBA affordable for all players and offer payment arrangements.
